Lorraine Chorazy, R.N., M.A., L.Ac., C.A.

Lorraine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY, in 1988 and a Master of Arts degree in Nursing at New York University in 1995. Her 13 years of clinical nursing experience, which includes Medical/Surgical Nursing, Surgical Intensive Care/Trauma, Home Care, and Psychiatry, has provided her with a well-rounded foundation as a health care professional. In 2001, she joined the pharmaceutical industry as a Drug Safety Specialist working in Adverse Event reporting. Out of a deep desire to promote health and wellness, she was inspired to explore complementary modalities of treatment and found acupuncture to be a natural extension of her role as a health care professional. In 2005, after completing a three-year course of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine that included a 1-year clinical residency, she earned a Master’s level diploma in Acupuncture from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, NJ. She is a Nationally and State board certified Acupuncturist and is licensed to practice acupuncture in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Her private practice has allowed her to combine Eastern and Western medical knowledge for the betterment and promotion of patient health and well-being.

Lorraine’s continuing interest in complementary medicine has recently led her to study Maya Abdominal Massage, an ancient Mayan technique of abdominal manipulation that repositions internal organs that have shifted and relieves many common digestive and gynecological ailments. She is also pursuing further knowledge of traditional South and Central American herbal remedies.

An admirer of formal gardens and natural vistas, Lorraine is a member of The New York Botanical Garden where she takes pleasure in walking, observing the wildlife and flora, and spending quiet time. She enjoys art, music, and dance, and above all values time spent with family and in study of Christian scripture. Born in the Bronx, she presently resides in Montclair with her husband and their two cats, sugar glider, and bearded dragon.
